AMC 40th Anniversary Promo!

As you already know from watching AMC's promos, you might think you were in for a blockbuster movie. However keep in mind that these eps. were written during Pratt's reign. Not to say that I don't hope they don't turn out well, but don't end in disappointment. Lets hope some of these people (especially Julia Barr) could stay!

Prepare for your Zendall-less AMC!

It saddens me much to think of an Alicia Minshew/Kendall-less AMC, but I am floured with happiness that that arrogant Zach Slater will be packing his backs. This week Soapgeist is reporting that Alicia Minshew and Thorsten Kaye are filming their final scenes

Daytime’s biggest douche-bag super-couple, Kendall and Zach, are leaving Pine Valley together. Actors Alicia Minshew and Thorsten Kaye only have three last episodes to tape. Thankfully, AMC’s taping schedule is so far ahead that the actress’s early birth didn’t affect the schedule. Minshew will return at the end of the month and film the farewell, report sources. The character’s myriad on-screen children will also exit the canvas. Whew. As previously reported, AMC will finish taping on Dec. 11 and then start re-taping around Jan. 11, 2010. Good times. Let’s hope now that One Life is taping in the same studio as The View that daytime’s redheaded stepchild may benefit from their new neighbours. Riiight.

I'd rather not see Alicia anywhere else but Kendall, but please bring Thorsten back to OLTL to rid Marty of John-John McBain!

AMC Move News: Knight, Morgan, among those to move, "Zendall" leaving, and Jamie returning?

Today's Soapgeist from TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco was chock-fulla AMC Move News.

Reportedly, show vets Michael E. Knight (Tad) and Debbi Morgan (Angie) are willing to be apart of LA's AMC, along with newcomer Adam Mayfield (Scott). Those reported last week to be ready to move are Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Jacob Young (JR), and Aiden Turner (Aidan). There was no report this week on Chrishell Stause (Amanda), but last week it was reported that she was among the few ready to go. The Soapgeist reports that her last taped date would-be Dec. 11 if she doesn't resign.

This week the Soapgeist reports that actors planning to leave are Alicia Minshew (Kendall), Thorsten Kaye (Zach), Ray MacDonnell (Joe), and David Canary (Adam). Minshew would be great on OLTL as a Cramer.

Those whose future is in question currently are Susan Lucci (Erica), Cameron Mathison (Ryan), and Darnell Williams (Jesse), but the Soapgeist reports that all three are leaning toward trying to commute to L.A.

Finally as for "big name" returns that were earlier slated to come back, it is reported that Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca) and Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie) were thinking of coming back, but Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee) and Alexa Havins (ex-Babe, and Bruening's real-life wife) were not currently returning.

Performer of the Week: Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R)

It's kind of late for Performer of the Week, so I'll wrap this up kind of short.

Victor and Nikki flashbacks and re-thinking wedding decisions equals stellar performances from Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R) and she has earned the Soaps-Now performer of the Week award for the week of August 3, 2009. Melody was superb, would have been her final scenes, and was terrific. Who ever thought we'd feel this way about an exit, and even happier to know what wasn't it! Great job, Mrs. Scott! Also her on-screen partner doing these scenes, Eric Braeden (Victor) is an honorable mention for his scenes during Zapato's funeral.

This week's honorable mentions include: OLTL's Brett Claywell (Kyle) for his scenes for the Kish kiss last week, and co-star Kassie DePaiva (Blair), who was crazy drunk during the double-weddings. Representing AMC we have Jamie Luner ("Turbo" Liza) who was great during her scenes with Marian. I think I said this before in an observation that some people don't Liza 2.0, just because she's not Marcy Walker, but give the chick a break! Also from AMC is Alicia Minshew (Kendall) who is a testament to all soap stars that you can serve it up even in storyline heck. Repping that Y&R this week are Daniel Goddard and Christel Khalil (Cane and Lily) who broke my heart when Cane brought Lily a lint roller for her hair when she stars chemo! I also had a note to add Jess Walton (Jill) to this list, I don't remember, but if I wrote it down it must have been good. I almost forgot, Vail freakin' Bloom was on point. Well mostly, I was feeling up and down. In my mind was mostly, why didn't Nina act this way with Phillip. Even if it could have been better, that's the best performance Bloom has served up...ever, and that may push Bloom into Y&R's female hustlers league. I think for her scenes with Billy. DAYS honors this week belong to Lauren Koslow and Bryan Datillo (Kate and Lucas) for when Lucas goes off on Kate and she breaks down as the Chloe's poisoning mess is going on. Some days with this storyline I go up and down.

Sorry I couldn't give a more in-depth analysis, but the POW was late as it was, and also hard to decide. Keep a look out for this week's best!

Move Casting News: Get Ready, Here It Comes

According to Nelson Branco's latest Suds Report, four AMC actors have already decided to go cross-country and join the Glassell Park soap. Those four ready to leave the Big Apple are Chrishell Stause (Amanda), Jacob Young (JR), Mel Claire Egan (Annie) and Aiden Turner (Aidan). Branco also reports that former stars Alexa Havins (ex-Babe #1), Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie), Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca), Tamara Braun (ex-Reese) and Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee) have been invited to return to the show. Word has it that Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley) has told Regis Philbin that she may consider returning to AMC since it will be moving to LA. Hope she is since she cut any chance of Beth Ehlers (Taylor) of killing it as Hayley instead of playing this sergeant woman.

However on the other front Branco's sources say Alicia Minshew (Kendall), David Canary (Adam), and Susan Lucci (Erica) are "furious", and are in "shock". Earlier in the report Branco also stated that the veterans are leading some members of the cast and saying "“We’re all banding together and threatening to quit to keep the show in New York,” a vet tells Suds. “You can print that.” Well I wish someone would tell them that this won't move a twitch, and that be prepared to see Amanda, JR, Babe (face it her hubby's Knight Rider is cancelled), Greenlee and Bianca rule a new AMC.

Perfomer of the Week: Sarah Brown (Claudia, GH)

Another week, and yet another occasion in which all soap stars bring their best. Although there was one other performance that rivaled this week's winner completely, this actresses' scenes when she finds out about her baby could not be challenged, and therefore earned Sarah Brown the Soaps-Now! performer of the week award for the Week of July 20, 2009. You may not like Claudia or the dozens of her personas, but you can't dispute that she brought it this week. However lets not forget this week's runner-up, the talented actress that challenged her, Y&R's Christel Khalil (Lily), in her performances in her character's cancer storyline. It was close between Brown and Khalil, but it seems as if Khalil will continue bringing her best even better this week.

Now that that's done, we have a slew of honorable mentions, because this week, even if the stories didn't meet your fancy, the actors were great. Again as usual, our favorite duo of rivals, Florencia Lozano and Kassie DePaiva (Blair and Tea, OLTL) brought it in a hand-slapping cat fight, which ended in ripping apart Todd's living room! Also Lozano was great in her scenes with Hillary B. Smith, Eddie Alderson and Shennell Edmonds (Nora, Matthew and Destiny) who didn't do too bad this week either. You also know as usual, I have to give props to my girl Stacy Haiduk (Patty, Y&R) who makes you sympathize with this homeless, garbage seeker, nutcase with a good heart! Also Daniel Goddard who went head-to-head with Billy this week, and longed for his wife, and his distraught father-in-law Neil (Kristoff St. John), who was determined to keep him away! I also was so, so impressed with Tonya Lee Williams (Liv) this week, especially in Friday's final scene. I wish she was on contract, and had a smokin' front-burner storyline.

Now as we go to GH territory, we have Brandon Barash (Johnny) who supported his sister this week, and comforted Sonny's youngest, Aaron Refvem's Morgan, who had to have broken everyone's heart this week! I was just anticipating Morgan to run in the arms of Drew Garrett's Michael, that would have been a heartwrenching scene! Even though we didn't see that Garrett did fantastic as usual, and also did he and Refvem's on-screen sis Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina), who I applaud for her scenes with her mother and sister, not in the scenes with that slob of a boyfriend she has.

Now to GL, who I really haven't been giving attention in the POW's but this week, I'm going to give them some dap too. Kim Zimmer (Reva) and Mandy Bruno (Marina). Now to ABC's All My Children which storyline brings down all the actors in it. However, no one can dispute that Alicia Minshew (Kendall), no matter if you don't like the way they like Kendall, if you don't like the character's storylines, Minshew brings her talent to the plate every single time! Now to DAYS, don't think I am oh so intrigued by the Chloe's poisoning storyline, even though I've had enough of Dr. Daniel Jonas. I applaud Suzanne Rogers (Maggie), Jay Kenneth Johnson (Phillip), and Lauren Koslow (Kate), but the best on the show this week was the incomparable Molly Burnett (Melanie) who slapped Stephie and just proves that she is a talented hair model to be reckoned with! Thanks to the talented readers of Daytime Confidential, I didn't have to do a poll this week! Lol. Btw, just wait my boy Thom Bierdz (Phillip, Y&R) is going to bring it one day, just wait and see! Also, they didn't make it to HM, but i'm definitely giving credit to Sean Kanan (Deacon, Y&R) and Rick Hearst (Whip, B&B) for bringing sensation to their respective shows.

Until Next Week....

AMC's Alicia Minshew to have a baby

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Alicia Minshew (Kendall) is pregnant and expecting a baby girl in November with husband Richie Herschenfeld. SOD says that are currently no plans to write in the pregnancy, but I wouldn't mind Kendall having a little girl on the show!
